Opening Mechanisms
Double casement windows are available in different versions, distinguished by their opening method and structure. Here are some common types:
- Swing Double Casement Windows - Both sashes open independently, either inward or outward. These windows provide a large opening surface, ensuring better ventilation.
- Tilt and Turn Double Casement Windows - One sash functions as both a swing and tilt window (tilting inward at the top), while the other opens on hinges. This combination allows for convenient ventilation and comfortable use.
- Sliding Double Casement Windows -In this version, one sash slides along tracks parallel to the other sash. These windows are ideal for spaces where fully opening the sashes is not possible, such as areas with limited space.
- Double Casement Windows with a Fixed Pane (Fix) - In this model, one sash is operable, while the other remains fixed and does not open.
Double Casement Windows with a Movable or Fixed Mullion
Double casement windows can feature a movable or fixed mullion. Mullions are used to divide the window vertically.
Fixed Mullion a stationary part of the window frame that connects the top and bottom of the frame. It is always visible, even when both sashes are open.
Movable Mullion visible only when the sashes are closed. When the window is fully open, the mullion moves along with the passive sash to which it is attached.
